Alexander Sh, an 18-year-old, landed on a Mercedes G-Wagen car parked below the tower.
According to Express UK, Russian reports gave two versions over the student's tragic fall from close to a skating rink high above the Russian capital.
A source from Moscow emergency service said: "A young man - 18 years old - fell from the 86th floor of the OKO tower in Moscow City.
"He fell right on a Mercedes car that was left in the outdoor parking lot.
"One of the versions of what happened is that he tried to make a selfie.
"According to the building's security, young man had been with his father at the skating rink."
But news website Life.ru citing eyewitnesses said: "People said there was an argument between the young man and his father.
"In the heat of the moment Alexander ran to a helicopter pad and jumped off."
Carmen Greenway, 41, was cycling home after having dinner at a pub to celebrate her mother’s birthday when she hit a bump and lost control.
The graphic designer was not wearing a helmet and fractured her skull.
She died six days later.
Rufus Greenway, 47, said his wife – who’d had a drink – was not taking selfies at the time of the crash and called for wearing helmets to be made compulsory.
The dad, from Isleworth, West London, said:“She was just having a lovely time, happy to be with her mother for her mum’s birthday.
"One second you’re happy and then next second it’s a train wreck.”
