Revealed! Femi Falana Discloses Identity Of Person Behind Igbos Quit Notice

02:01 Add Comment
Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has claimed that the person behind the quit notice issued to Igbos living in the North, resides in Lagos.

Falana said this while speaking at a media briefing organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on the raging agitations by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The legal luminary added that it was the utterances of a one-time Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Ango Abdullahi, over the brutal killings of four students of the institution, that allegedly led to the protests by the Nigerian students and the arrest of eight students of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) by the Gen. Ibrahim Babangida’s military regime.
“The recently concluded election in the UK, two weeks ago, seven Nigerians emerged as Legislators, can we repeat that, can we look at the challenges before us and stop following those ones trying to divide us?
“This information is very crucial to all of us and I want to say this publicly. The man who is giving quit notice (to the Igbos to leave north) does not live in the North, he lives in Lagos, he is a Lagos man. So to stay in Lagos and be giving quit notices is not the answer.
“On May 23, 1986, young people, four of them were killed in the Ahmadu Bello University because somebody had said we are against coup… Ango Abdullahi was the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University when these students were killed by the Police, he came out and said only four students were killed.
“That angered Nigerians particularly the Nigerian students and there were protests. One of the universities where that protest was very successful was the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Please listen to me, the man who led the protest was late Chima Ubani, what happened? The state did not like the case that it was a national protest against the killing in ABU.
“What did they do? They didn’t arrest the students who were protesting in the North. They didn’t arrest the students who were protesting in the West, (Ibrahim) Babangida regime went for Chima Ubani and arraigned him and eight of his colleagues under a military rule that required that they be sentenced to death.
“I left Lagos to go to Enugu to defend those men. We got them freed when they returned to campus, the Vice Chancellor expelled them. Again, I went to court and got them freed. Please this story is very important.
“A Hausa Vice Chancellor invited the police and they killed young Hausa students, four of them. Nigerian students protested and an Igbo young man led that protest in the East against injustice, a Yoruba man in the West to free them. So we must look at those things that the elites are using to divide our people. Injustice is injustice, so there no nation without challenges,” Falana stated.

Finally!Toyo Baby Clarifies Rift With Jenifa

01:56 Add Comment
Early this  year it was confirmed that Olayode Juliana, popularly known as ‘Toyo Baby’ in Funke Akindele-Bello’s popular Television comic series, Jenifa’s Diaries, has been cut from production. This was initially denied by Juliana during her reaction to our post on social media, but she has now come clean about their misunderstanding.
In a post on her website minutes ago, she opened up about their relationship, claiming that she was Funke’s unofficial; Personal Assistant, Makeup artist, Caterer, Costumier, Driver, Cleaner, Washer woman, Masseur, Prayer partner and Script adviser.
Read what she wrote after the cut…
The relationship between Jenifa and Toyo Baby UNCENSORED!
It hurts when people spread lies about you and you cannot do anything to defend yourself. But thank God for a platform like this. I would be saying a lot of things; it would be a long read but I promise you would enjoy reading. I would be stating in clear terms the relationship I had with Aunty Funke.
I used ‘had’ and would be talking in past tense because like you know, I am presently not on the Jenifa’s Diary series. And guess what? The news just broke lately, but I have been off the series since May,2016 (last year); it’s been over a year already.
My post would be in two parts; who Aunty Funke was to me (Juliana), and then, who I was to her. These are things only few people know but I am ready to let the world know.
Yes! I will start with her. Why? She’s an amazing person and I can’t wait for you to know how lovely she is on a one-on-one basis. We all have our flaws but we choose rather to celebrate our strengths. Here goes!
Aunty Funke to Juliana!
COACH
Aunty Funke met me for the first time at the auditions of Jenifa’s Diary (she did not know me prior to that day). She saw my talent and believed in me.
I worked with her for years; she trained me and helped me in becoming a better actress. She would not take anything short of excellence from her cast. I honestly have not seen anyone in Nollywood more hard working than Aunty Funke. And she made it a duty to correct me and coach me on being better.
BENEFACTOR
Aunty Funke helped pay my mum’s hospital bill for a fibroid surgery, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000), because I had no money at that time. She also gave to the ministry dear to my heart, MINE Teenage Ministry when we were preparing for an event, one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) and my pastor called to appreciate her.
So apart from my pay as an actress on the series (which I won’t mention), that’s all I received from her money-wise, asides from change she gave me for transport when leaving set because as at then, I used to jump bus, ‘keke’ and bike to and fro set up until I left the series…lol. But in all, God used her to meet that major need in my life at that time.
BIG SISTER AND ADVISER
I fondly remember the times Aunty Funke would call me to her room while I was staying in her house (during set), and talk to me. She would take her time to advise me and encourage me as regards life in general.
One particular day I treasure was the day she came to the room I stayed and told me, in a mother’s tone that I was beautiful and she warned me sternly never to bleach. I smile whenever I remember that. God bless her kind heart!p
CHEERLEADER AND ENCOURAGER
Aunty Funke never ceased to celebrate me. Knowing how excellent she is at what she does (acting), I was shocked, elated and excited all at once the day she told me I was a good actress. She told me I would be great and celebrated. She saw years ago what is happening today. I am thankful for her words.
Juliana to Aunty Funke!
UNOFFICIAL PA
I was privileged to be the one holding Aunty Funke’s bag while on set. I ‘kept’ the money we spent on day-to-day running and was required to balance account afterwards.
I don’t like Mathematics, so that was a lot of work…lol. Money was never unaccounted for in my keep. I ran errands for Aunty Funke and made sure all that was needed was supplied.
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT MAKE-UP ARTIST
On set, on some occasions, when I was not acting, I was fanning and dabbing the faces of other actresses (including extras). So, this is for those that have accused me of being proud.
Please ask those I fanned and dabbed while preparing to go on set later. On some occasions, I also did my own makeup and that of some other cast. All I wanted to do was SERVE; I wanted every set to be a success.
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT CATERER
On set, there were different occasions I served cast and crew (plus extras) food and water. At some points, I joined in washing plates when the plates were not enough to go round. And times I was not acting, and I saw the ‘Mamas’ needed help, I joined them in washing plates. They are alive to bear witness.
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT COSTUMIER
I hardly forget things I memorised, so I knew the continuity of major characters on the set. Aunty Funke used to ask Costumiers to confirm costumes with me. On some occasions.
I had to go to set earlier than others and leave later than others to sort out costumes, including wigs and other accessories. I looked forward to doing it and never once complained
UNOFFICIAL ASSISTANT DRIVER
I could not drive while on Jenifa’s Diary set, and I still cannot…lol but I woke up early on different occasions to wash Aunty Funke’s car.
The times I didn’t wash, I dusted the car. She is a neat person, so I made sure the inside of the car and the boot were tidy and clean. For me, it was pleasure serving Aunty Funke.
UNOFFICIAL CLEANER
I lived with Aunty Funke while set was on, so I counted it my duty to clean the house. She lived in a duplex at Chevron at that time, so I cleaned the entire house.
Sweeping and moping from room to room. Scrubbing bathroom after bathroom. I arranged wardrobe after wardrobe, laid one bed after another. You would not know any of these if I am not saying this. I did all this with joy. She was special to me and you serve those you love.
UNOFFICIAL WASHER WOMAN
Aunty Funke is neat and very tidy and she does professional drycleaning. But there were times she needed a dress washed urgently and I helped her wash. Please don’t accuse me of being proud or rude to Aunty Funke again. I SERVED her WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
UNOFFICIAL COOK
Some of my fond memories with Aunty Funke are the times I cooked for Aunty Funke. I enjoyed cooking for her. I followed someone who lived with her then (name withheld) to market on different occasions to buy things we used to cook.
Please note, I had a home of my own. I stayed with Aunty Funke only when we were shooting except times she specifically asked me to come over.
UNOFFICIAL MASSUER
I learnt how to massage with Aunty Funke; I learnt on the job…lol. I knew she was usually tired when we got back so it was my pleasure to relieve her; she sometimes slept off while I massaged her. There was a day we were on location and we did not take the oil.
Someone offered oil but as I held it, my spirit was not at peace. So, I bowed my head and prayed over the oil. I did not know Aunty Funke was watching me. When I opened my eyes, she asked what I did and I told her. Her response was “O se oko mi”, translated, “thank you my dear”.
PRAYER PARTNER
There were different times Aunty Funke called me to pray on location, and sometimes at home. There was a time I gave her a Word of Knowledge. I had a dream once, I told her, and it happened the next day. I fasted and prayed with Aunty Funke and her sister.
She called me to pray with her at midnight at some points. She knew from the onset that I was a Christian and that I was committed to prayer. There were different times we both prayed and asked God to give us sponsors. So, for those that have accused me of being “holier-than-thou”, that is the real me o!
Everybody on every set I have gone, including Jenifa’s Diary, know I am unapologetically sold out to Jesus. I am not ‘deceiving’ anybody. That is my ‘real face’…lol
SCRIPT ADVISER
I had the pleasure of sitting and gisting with Aunty Funke at different points, whether at home or in the car. We would talk about the script. She sometimes had inspirations in the car and she would ask me to write it down so she doesn’t forget, and she would ask my opinion.
I treasure those moments. Interestingly, there was a day we were talking at the house and her husband was there. I talked about loving High School movies and Musicals.
I said I wondered why we didn’t have such in Nigeria. Then, we all started talking. JJC Skills even ‘drafted’ me into it already but we were just talking lightly. It is my joy that “INDUSTREET” is a reality today!
Let me stop here! So, with these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that you shouldn’t believe everything you read until you hear from the source.
Your question now is, what happened? Hmmm! We had a misunderstanding and I cannot disclose what happened without Aunty Funke’s permission. But if you read all I said in the post, you would gather that we were quite close. And when two people get that close, misunderstandings are bound to occur.
All I have said, you can confirm. 100% truth and UNCENSORED!!!
So, it is God, who saw my faithfulness and commitment, Who is rewarding me and announcing me to the world. Dear aspiring celeb, please SERVE and not seek to be served.
Please do well to share this post on your social media platforms via the buttons beneath this post so we can spread the TRUTH of what went down. My name has been tarnished by liars and bloggers seeking traffic. God have mercy on them!
Whew!!! This was long! Thank you for reading and allowing me pour out my mind in love. I am just a human being who does not want to be maligned falsely!
God bless you.

"He Had Sex With My Best Friend", Angry Woman Tells Court

An angry woman has told the shocking story of how her husband was found out to have r*ped her own best friend in his home.
The woman, identified as Rukayat, told the story in a letter she sent to Vanguard.
Below is how she told the story:
“I was fresh out of the university when I found myself pregnant at age 22. I didn’t want to get married, but my boyfriend then was 30 years old and persuaded me we should get married for the child’s sake.
“The marriage turned out to be a nightmare as he became controlling and violent. I endured his abuse for 15 years and with three children, I finally found the courage to leave him – thanks to my best friend’s encouragement.
“I was to finally go to the house to collect the rest of my things and my friend agreed to go with me for moral support. Unfortunately, she arrived before I got there. My husband was in, in spite of his telling me he wouldn’t be around.
“He invited my friend in to wait for me and attacked her almost immediately, raping her in the process. When I eventually turned up, we both went to the police and got him arrested. Later, relatives and friends convinced us to drop the charges because of the children.
“My friend never spoke to me again and as soon as she could, she got transferred to another state. If I’d left my ex sooner, my friend might never have gone through the nasty experience of being violated. I blame myself for the trauma she went through.”
Rukayat got a reply after her story was read. Below is the reply:
“Dear Rukayat,
“I’m sorry for what happened to your best friend and it is sad you were unable to be reconciled before she relocated.
“Please know that what happened to her was not your doing. You are a victim just as she was and you need support in realising this.
“You did the best you could by reporting the incident. You’ve lost your best friend as well as your marriage.
“You need counselling to get over your losses and make the most of your life as the single parent you now are.”a

Who Knows? Nnamdi Kanu Might Be Nigeria's President In 2019

Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano state governor, in a recent interview said that he wouldn’t be shocked if Nnamdi Kanu, leader of secessionist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), runs for office in the next general election.

“Some people doing it because of their personal interest. I wouldn’t be surprised that the young man (Nnamdi Kanu) will contest for an election in the next general elections. They started agitation to galvanize support and at the end, they would contest for an election,” the senator said.

Done Deal! Man United Set To Announce Second Signing

Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Benfica winger, Anderson Talisca ahead of a potential £20million deal.

The Brazilian winger is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe, due to his solid impressive displays that has drawn a couple of clubs to his signature.
The 23-year-old spend last season on loan at Turkish giants, Besiktas, churning out impressive performances, netting 17 goals in 33 matches and he is expected to spend another season on loan in Turkey but there are reports that Manchester United are keen on landing him on a permanent deal this summer.
It is understood that Talisca has a £20million release clause in his current deal with Besiktas but the Turkish side have not shown interest in signing the midfielder on a permanent deal this summer.
Reports in Turkish newspaper AMK claim that the Red Devils have contacted Benfica about the possibility of signing Talisca this summer and are ready to offer a good deal to lure the player to the Old Trafford.
United boss, Jose Mourinho is said to be a long-term admirer of Talisca, who had earlier admitted that he is dreams of playing at the Old Trafford in the near future.

THESE 15 LUCRATIVE BUSINESS IDEAS WILL TAKE CENTER STAGE IN 2017

01:08 Add Comment
2017 is a good year to start a business. The harsh economic climate and the recession looming over everyone means you must find ways to make more money if you must survive. The business ideas listed in this article will be hot in 2017 for very good and different reasons. But they are not the only businesses you can start in 2017. They are enough, however, to set your idea wheels spinning so you can start something if you have not do so.

The good thing about 2017 is a lot of people will find new, creative ways of doing old businesses, and that will be the beauty of it. You can have your own brand of products in your own brand name without doing any of the production yourself, for example. You can enter the real estate business without spending huge sums of money, and so on. This is why 2017 will be a lucrative year for smart entrepreneurs. Let’s get right to it.

1. AGRICULTURE BUSINESS IDEAS

Agriculture has been rightly promoted as one important channel for our country to bounce back on her feet and regain her former economic glory. Young people are realizing this and are doing their best to key in and prosper. Among all the business ideas listed on this blog, agriculture business ideas get the most search hits on Google, especially the article on bean flour production. The hunger to succeed is there.
To make this work, government should provide resources and incentives to encourage more young people into agriculture. This has happened a bit with the introduction of grants for rice farmers and export financing for agro-commodity exporters among others. I expect so much more to happen in 2017 with more of private sector investments and venture capitalists participation. 2017 will be a good year for agriculture.  Now is a good time to get started. These 50 agriculture business ideas should set your idea wheels spinning.

2. ANIMAL FEED PRODUCTION BUSINESS

People worry so much about starting animal production business; only a few see the huge potentials in animal feed production. Fish must eat to grow, right? Don’t wait till you have a big factory. A friend of mine made huge profits this year in animal feed. He would visit noodles production factories and make a deal to buy off the waste product of noodles (the broken, no-use ones). He would then supply them to fish farmers as feed. He has no company or factory, just his resourcefulness and ingenuity, and he makes very good money. Animal feed is good business, more so in 2017. Learn how to start poultry feed production business here.

3. WASTE RECYCLING

So much has been said about the environment this year. Big players like the US and China are going big about safeguarding the environment. True, Nigeria may not have gotten to the point where we cut our fossil fuel reliance and go completely green. But Nigerian entrepreneurs are not giving up. Waste recycling is a good project for the environment. Since Bilikiss started WeCyclers, she has won a lot of recognition and raised money for her project. Others players like of Edem of EIS Recyclers are fast catching up to the action. There’s room for everyone. Saving the planet will be a big talking point in 2017 and waste recycling business is one way to make it happen. This article will guide you on how to start your own profitable waste recycling business in Nigeria.

4. PAPER BAG PRODUCTION

Still on the environment, I expect plastic bags to gradually go out of use from 2017 (maybe not that immediate but bound to happen at some point); they are not good for the environment. Paper bags have got good shouts in other African countries with nations like South Africa, Morocco, Rwanda, Uganda, etc all imposing a ban on plastic bags. How long before our beloved Nigeria follows suit? No matter how long it takes, investing in paper bag production will be worth it. This detailed article will guide you on how to start paper bag production business (includes video tutorials)

5. ONLINE TUTORIAL

Blogging is not the only way you can establish yourself as an expert and make money out of your knowledge. Many people now take online courses to make up for the knowledge they could not get in the classroom. There is a big opportunity in this niche. If you can deliver tutorials on topics people are interested in learning, people will gratefully pay you to learn them. Starting your own online tutorials does not take much. For a start you can sign up as an instructor on Udemy and later, develop your own blog/platform.

6. REAL ESTATE

Every year is a good year for real estate business. 2017 will not be an exception. The major drawback in real estate business is the amount of capital it requires for startup. There’s a way around it. Oluwatobi Oladele delivered a lecture on how you can start your own lucrative real estate business with very little capital. So why not give it a go in 2017?

7. MOBILE FOOD VENDING BUSINESS

If you love cooking, mobile food vending will be a good and lucrative way to get into the catering business in 2017. The Igwe Brothers started Speedmeals Mobile Kitchen in 2010; they agree that in 2016, the market is still as open as ever. I expect more caterers to go mobile in 2017 because people will appreciate having their food brought to them. The major challenge with this, as with any food business, is getting peoples’ trust. You do this with proper hygiene, tasty meals and timely, consistent delivery. It will also put a lot of ‘mama put’ on their toes to improve their quality of their cooking.
8. ONLINE MARKETING
Take your pick: blogging, freelancing, information marketing, affiliate marketing, there are plenty. More people will make more money online in 2017 than they did in 2016. It is no longer a secret that people make full income on the internet. By the way, if you plan on starting a blog in 2017, I wrote an article on top 18 blog topic ideas that should make you the most money. Check it out and let me know what you think.

9. TECH BUSINESS

The Nigerian tech industry is in the spotlight for many good reasons. We have seen Nigerians develop award winning apps like OkadaBooks, Find-A-Med, BudgIT, AfriNolly, etc. Because the tech industry is proving very lucrative, more people will look to explore their creative tech side in 2017. Tech bloggers like OgbongeBlog and NaijaTechGuide have been making money for a long time now. I expect more people to follow their lead in 2017. This is a brilliant opportunity for the tech person.

10. PROGRAMMING/CODING TUTORIALS

There are two ways to make money through what you know: you can do what you know and you can teach people how to do what you know. For our tech industry to keep booming, people will need ways to learn coding/programming. You can start learning programming right now, free of charge. This article will show you 5 places to learn coding without paying anything.

6 Awesome Business Ideas For Teen Entrepreneurs

00:16 Add Comment
Many of the most successful people in business today started out as teenage entrepreneurs. For many teens, the realization that building something of your own beats working for “the man” comes to them naturally, but coming up with the right idea isn’t always easy.

So here are 10 ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Most can be started by anyone, and a few will require some specialized knowledge, but might get you on the right path or spark another idea, even if you don’t have that knowledge right now. And if you’re at all worried about being taken seriously as a teen business person, take a look at our recent post on the subject.
Whatever business you decide to start, know this: if you’re a teen reading this post, you’re already far ahead of 90 percent of other people your age, and way ahead of the vast majority of people of any age.
To enter the world of entrepreneurship can be challenging at times, but those of us who do it know that all the hard work, setbacks, and challenges that come are nothing compared to the rewards of starting and growing your own business.  So don’t let anything slow you down.  If being in business for yourself is your dream, go for it with all you’ve got!

Senior Errand Service

Wherever you live, there are bound to be senior citizens who need help with errands.  The errands you’ll run can range from grocery shopping to picking up dry cleaning and going to the post office.
If you don’t yet have wheels, there are plenty of ways to help seniors around the house too, like washing the car, making minor repairs, or helping out with yard work. As the fasted growing segment of the population, it makes a lot of business sense to serve seniors, and it will feel good to know you’re helping someone who really needs it.

Garage Cleaning

Have you ever walked past an open garage that was so cluttered with stuff the family couldn’t fit their car inside?  Those are your potential clients.  Cleaning out the garage is a chore no one enjoys (unless they’re getting paid like you will), so convincing people to hire you won’t be that hard – especially if you’re polite and professional and your rates are reasonable.
Your startup costs will be minimal with this business – chances are you have most if not all of your supplies at home already.  All you’ll need are a good push broom, some cleaning supplies and lots of elbow grease.
To get customers, make up some flyers and go door-to-door around your neighborhood.  It might be intimidating at first, but before long, you’ll get your pitch down, and it will be well worth the effort.
Web Design Service
This is one business where you really should have some training and a lot of practice to get started.  Yes, there are many people out there calling themselves web designers who just use templates and have only a basic html background, but you don’t want to be one of those.
The real money in this field is made by those who know what they’re doing.  If it’s something that interests you, it won’t take that long to learn, and you can do very well from referrals and return business.  And this is another business that can take you far beyond your high school years.

Blogging
Are you an expert in a particular area, like social media or high school algebra? Are you an entertaining writer, or simply have a great sense of humor?
If you can get people to read what you have to say, you can make money at it by starting a blog. There are thousands of affiliate programs that will pay you when people click through from your blog to their sites and make a purchase.
You’ll want to read lots of articles (like these) about how to do this right, but once you figure it out, it can mean making way more than your friends working at the taco place

Social Media Consulting
If you’re in your teens, chances are very good you know your stuff when it comes to using Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and other social networks. But did you know this stuff is big business? Well it absolutely is. There are entire consulting firms dedicated to helping their clients maximize their social media efforts, and some of them probably don’t have as much experience at it as you do.
Step one is to find out all you can about using social media for business. There are tons of online resources for this, so that part’s a breeze. Next, decide what services you’ll offer and if you’ll specialize in a particular area – Facebook fan pages, for instance. Then get out there on social media and make it known that you’re available as a consultant.
Also consider visiting local businesses that see the value in social media but might not know how to get started. There is a huge market for this right now. You just have to plan it out and go for it!

Jewelry Making
Like candle making, this business is for those with a creative flare.  It might take a little more to get started, both in money and know-how, but you don’t need tons of training, and if you use materials like beads and silver rather than gold and diamonds, starting a custom jewelry business doesn’t have to cost a lot.  To get started, you can learn most of what you need to know from books on the subject.  Then it’s a matter of practicing until you’re good.  If your stuff is attractive, you’ll find a market eager to snatch up your pieces – often for a premium price.

Trump: Warmbier 'should have been brought home a long time ago'

01:14 Add Comment
President Donald Trump on Tuesday suggested that Otto Warmbier, the American who died days after his release from North Korea, would still be alive if he had been released sooner.
"He should have been brought home that same day. The results would have been a lot different," Trump said.
The Trump administration secured Warmbier's release from North Korea last week on humanitarian grounds after nearly 18 months of imprisonment. He arrived in the US last Tuesday in a coma and died on Monday.
Trump called the situation a "disgrace" and is now facing calls for the US to respond to North Korea for its role in Warmbier's death.
But on Tuesday, answering a question during an Oval Office meeting with the Ukrainian president, Trump focused on lamenting the length of Warmbier's imprisonment and the delay in securing his release.
"He should have been brought home a long time ago," Trump said.
Warmbier was arrested and imprisoned in North Korea during President Barack Obama's time in office, though North Korea only informed the US of Warmbier's medical condition earlier this month. Trump's comment could be interpreted as an implicit knock of the Obama administration.
Ned Price, former National Security Council spokesman under Obama, responded to Trump saying the Obama administration "had no higher priority than securing the release of Americans detained overseas."
"North Korea's isolation posed unique challenges, but we worked through every avenue available to us -- including through the Swedish, our protecting power, as well as through our representatives in New York -- to secure the release of Mr. Warmbier," he said, adding that at least 10 Americans were freed from North Korea under Obama.
Three Americans remain imprisoned in North Korea. Tony Kim and Kim Hak Song were arrested in recent months on charges of committing "hostile acts." A third American, Kim Dong Chul was detained in 2015.
"A lot of bad things happened, but at least we got him home to be with his parents, where they were so happy to see him even though he was in very tough condition," Trump said Monday, reacting to Warmbier's death.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Tuesday offered few details about how the US plans to respond to the death of Warmbier, promising only that the US will "continue to apply economic and political pressure" to change North Korea's behavior.
"The President has spoken very clearly about how he and the first lady and our country feels about the loss of this American," Spicer said.

Spicer said the US is continuing to work with China to apply pressure on North Korea and said the US has seen "positive movement" with China.
The US will "continue to work with them and others to put the appropriate pressure on North Korea to change the behavior of this regime," Spicer said.
Asked whether Trump would still consider meeting with Kim Jong Un -- as he previously said he would be willing to do, given the right conditions -- Spicer said: "Clearly, we're moving further away, not closer, to those conditions being met."

Breaking: EU citizens in Britain to be asked to register for post-Brexit status

01:03 Add Comment
The government is preparing to announce a registration process for the estimated 3 million EU citizens living in the UK, as a first step towards regularising their legal status post-Brexit.
It is understood ministers will unveil plans inviting all EU citizens to officially “register their interest” in acquiring documentation allowing them to live and work in the country after 2019 when Britain is scheduled to leave the European bloc.
The government is hoping the stocktaking exercise will help it understand the scale of the demand for residency applications once Britain leaves the EU and prevent an overwhelming avalanche of applications on Brexit day.
The registration process is expected to be part of a new scheme tailor-made for EU citizens already living in the UK.
It will not be linked to the current and controversial permanent residency process, which requires applicants to submit mountains of paperwork to demonstrate they have a right to remain in the country.
There is no no legal obligation for EU citizens to apply for residency cards, but many have been panicked into applying for the document as they see it as the only way to prove their status after Brexit takes effect.
The new scheme is expected to form part of the wider proposal on EU citizens’ rights, which the Brexit secretary, David Davis, said would be outlined on Monday.
The offer is being described by government sources as “generous” but any deal that fails to match that put on the negotiating table by the EU is likely to get a hostile reception by EU citizens in the UK and British nationals in the EU.
Nicolas Hatton, co-founder of grassroots campaign group the3million, said the government’s protracted position that EU citizens could be “bargaining chips” in Brexit talks and Theresa May’s refusal to offer any details on the Conservative party’s position had fostered deep suspicion among EU citizens.

“If the registration process is not going to entitle them to residency, they won’t do it. People will be sceptical and think it will be used to foul their applications,” he said. “They just won’t bother to register – they will see it as pointless.”
Monique Hawkins, a dual British-Dutch national, who made international headlines when her application for permanent residency was refused on technical grounds, also reported mistrust among EU citizens.
She has spent six months working behind the scenes with the3million and the British in Europe, a coalition of groups representing Britons on the continent.

Wizkid vs Davido, Which beefing Nigerian superstar has had a better 2017 so far?

This article is a reaction to what Davido and Wizkid have decided to do with their spare time – beef.

They didn’t focus on their strings of beautiful women, play Playstation or smoke expensive cigars. They had the bright idea of chasing down shades and hurling them at each other with reckless abandon.
Their only weapon is their achievements, which has reduced all of their life’s work into “I am better than you because you are a lesser artist than I am.”
This has created a conversation on Twitter, with fans and enthusiasts taking sides, and shredding every bit of information on the two artists and comparing it. There have been career comparisons, song styles, awards, income and lots more.
Who is a better artist? Who is a greater earner? Who has more fans? Who has a stronger impact?

Fairly, Wizkid and Davido has done a lot in their young careers, and there’s still a lot more to achieve. To properly analyze this arguments, we have gathered almost all of their data for 6 months to find out who has performed better.
Don’t blame us. Blame the fans who have carried on with very biased stats. This is where truth meets numbers, and numbers meet analysis.
Music Deals
In 2015 and 2016, Wizkid and Davido were the poster boys of the international spotlight on Africa and the push for her pop sounds to become globally acceptable. They were ready for it. These two talents had conquered the continent, had a chokehold on pop music in Africa, had the numbers behind them, and possessed all the qualities that stardom required.
They were a perfect fit for the role.
Sony Music Entertainment stretched their long arms into the continent and offered them recording deals, and in the US, RCA Records was chosen to house them and handle distribution in the US. This was a big deal. It was the first time for a new age African pop star to be handed these international deals. The big leagues were here. Wizkid and Davido were the vanguards.
Davido was plucked, offered a deal worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, one album, with the option of more, depending on the performance of the project. OBO also lost his creative control, which required that a team from Sony will handle his A&R. They would have to fund his work with new producers, tweak his sound, and get him to create a hybrid version of the African flavor, which they can market to global audiences as the new wave.
Wizkid also received the same deal, although it was announced later than Davido’s. His contract had more financial backing, RCA was his home, and he needed to tweak his sound, which would ensure that he had a strategy to breaking even on the international stage. Already, he had begun to make his mark on that stage, working with Tinie Tempah, Drake, TY Dollar Sign, Justine Skye, Zara Larsson and many more.
Based on the strength of their Sony deals, Wizkid is rated as a greater international prospect, and he took home a bigger pay.
Scores: Wizkid 1 – 0 Davido

Outcome Of The Deal So Far?
Davido struggled to tweak his sound. All of Sony’s efforts to get him to blend with more westernized artistic styles and sounds didn’t work. His work was delayed, his music held, and it showed in the way he handled his business. Incessant complaints on Instagram and unhappy spells frustrated him, and he went several months without any released record.
In October 2016, he released the EP, “Son Of Mercy,” a project which was critically bashed. His collaboration with Tinashe on ‘How long’ was roundly criticized, and the lead single ‘Gba gbe’ did not impress either. The singer quickly moved on, with more complaints.
At the start of 2016, unable to bear it any longer, Davido negiotiated and won an amendment to his contract; he received creative control for Africa, fired his manager Kamal Ajiboye, and set out to focus squarely on reigniting his career locally.
While he still has his Sony deal, his core focus is in Africa.
Wizkid took the deal in his stride. Countless recording sessions in various countries enabled the singer to access another layer of his artistry. He began to model his delivery after Caribbean sounds, fusing elements of his local tongue to create a hybrid. It is this experiment that has created ‘Daddy Yo’, ‘Come closer’, ‘African Bad Gyal’, and his numerous collaborations.
He has an album coming through, “Sounds From The Other Side,” which would feature international guests, but produced mainly by local producers. It is his first project under RCA Records. It is receiving the major album roll-out plan with promotional process put in place for it.
Wizkid has a deal that is still originally intact, with all parties working together. He has also unlocked a new artistic depth, from which he is operating right now.
Scores: Wizkid 2 – 0 Davido

Songs and Impact In Nigeria
For 2017, Davido’s local impact is incomparable. OBO is killing it, with the success of his record ‘If’, which has reignited his career and made him a hot artist again. The single is one of the biggest songs out of Africa, with R. Kelly covering it. It has restructured the story around the singer, injecting a huge dose of positivity.
Davido has also released his second single ‘Fall’ which instantly raved and is receiving acceptance on a mass level. The singer’s influence back home has grown, and his ’30 billion for the account’, has created a pop culture phrase. He is crushing it right now at the local level.
Wizkid on his part has come through with ‘Daddy Yo’, which was a mellow hit. Other singles have focused their core promotion outside the country. 'Çome Closer’ is coasting in Nigeria, but new song ‘African Bad Gyal’ which features Chris Brown is gathering some storm.
At the moment, Davido is ahead on this one at the local level. But Wizkid is pushing his international credentials. Davido takes this one based on his transformation and pure heat from his hits. He is holding the home front down.
Scores: Wizkid 2 – 1 Davido

In the end, this beef is pointless.
