Ibrahimovic the saviour as Man Utd survive Liverpool show at Old Trafford

It was a sublime battle at the Old Trafford as Manchester United and Liverpool shared the spoils in a massive English Premier League fixture on Sunday, January 15.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic stole the show late-on in an epic encounter which lived-up to the pre-match razzmatazz as the game was lit right from the first blash of the whistle.
United’s Pogba became the villain in the 27th minute when he handled the ball in the area with the referee pointing to the spot to gift the visitors a penalty.
James Milner made no mistake from the spot has he blasted home to put Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead 1 - 0.
The Reds had a filled day in most parts of the first half having over 58% of the possession but could not extend their lead as both teams went into the break with the visitors leading by a lone goal.
Like a wounded lion, Jose Mourinho's men returned from the tunnel firing from all cylinders. Wayne Rooney was introduced in a tactical change as Michael Carrick left the pitch.
Paul Pogba almost leveled things up in the 60th minute but his effort went slightly wide.
Henrik Mkhitaryan was a thorn in the flesh for Liverpool but his effort in the 70th minute was deflected just wide.
Liverpool should have sealed the game in the 73rd minute but Roberto Firmino's pass in the area was intercepted by Phil Jones.
The Old Trafford erupted in the 84th minute after Zlatan Ibrahimovic headed home a rebound off the wood work to give his side a precious point at regulation time. It ended; Manchester United 1 - 1 Liverpool.
United remain sixth on the log with 40points while Liverpool are third with 45 points behind leaders Chelsea and Tottenham.
Manchester United travel to Stoke City in their next game on January 21, while Liverpool host Swansea on the same day.
